Abidat Rma is an art inspired by the ritual of hunting. This ritual, which coincided with the start of the hunting season, was celebrated with songs as much as with rhythmic dances to the sound of tambourines and the clicking of big scissors. When the game was at bay, cheers were raised to urge the frightened prey to cease all resistance. In this concert of shouts, the hunters were engaged in a gesture as if to push the game to its last entrenchments.

It is a popular musical art of the region in the form of a group made up of seven people and more, with a group leader named Mkadem. It is the leader dressed in a Djellaba that distinguishes him from the others. The Mkadem has as its instrument a chisel or mkass (which was intended to cut the wool of sheep), or tara (round musical instrument).

As its name suggests, Abidat R’ma is an art inspired by the ritual of hunting. This ritual, which coincides with the start of the hunting season, is celebrated by songs as much as by dance. When the game is at bay, shouts (cheers) are raised to push the prey, frightened, to cease all resistance. In this concert of shouts, the hunters engage in a gesture as if to push the game to its last entrenchments.

The "Abidat Rma" festival is therefore a way of promoting this form of artistic expression of Bedouin origin, characterized by simplicity and improvisation, which constitutes one of the components of this centuries-old cultural heritage.

Inspired by hunting, the art of Abidat R’ma also celebrates the harvest season. If it was born during the hunting season, it is used often at harvest time. During this period, the Abidat R’ma express the joy of the peasants to reap the fruits of their labor, especially when the crops are good.

Today, this art is still highly prized by Moroccans. Abidat R’ma is in great demand for family celebrations (weddings, circumcision, etc.). They are also used for television evenings. The secret of this high demand finds its explanation not only in the songs or music of the Abidat R’ma, but also in the dramatization of their art. The pleasure of listening thus combines the pleasure of the eye. At the option of music lovers and fans of live shows.
